Miami little theatre6/15/2023 ![]() The brief history below cannot give more than a glimpse of the hundreds of local actors, set builders, directors, and others who have dedicated their time and talents to making our productions possible and keeping our theatre alive. It found a way to do shows wherever it could to sustain the theatre, until it found its present home thanks to the generosity of the Graham Companies. The Community Theatre of Miami Lakes, as it was formerly known, survived despite the challenges of finding a permanent home. She is thus excited to bring those talents to the summer stage and help make Avenue Q a complete success.After 48 years as the longest running community theatre in Miami-Dade, the Main Street Players (MSP) has gone professional after staging quality productions – plays and musicals – for the community since 1974. She is also proficient in website design, the Miami Theatre Works website being one of her many creations. ![]() In addition to her love for live theatre, Delaney is well known for her environmental work including being the founder of The Sink or Swim Project, helping to co-create and organize the Miami March for Science, acting as Director of Sustainability for a music festival, sitting on the Board of Directors for the CLEO Institute and CAVU, directing UM’s environmental Student Government Board, among many other leadership roles. Now a graduate student at the University of Miami (UM), her previous acting credits include Little Shop of Horrors (ensemble), Once on this Island (Storyteller 4), and multiple showcases. She joined the company last year as Managing Director/Stage Director for. ![]() He is also on the music staff of Florida Grand Opera as pianist-coach.ĭELANEY REYNOLDS, Production Manager, is elated to work with the talented Michael Stoddard and Miami Theatre Works again this summer. He is staff pianist-coach at Florida International University and piano faculty at Barry University in Miami Shores. Jared recently completed his fourth year as Music Director of the Young Patronesses of the Opera In-School Opera Program. He has performed with Vero Beach Opera, Miami Lyric Opera, Amici dell’arte, the Hispanic-American Lyric Theater, the Frost Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Miami, and with The Symphonia, Boca Raton. Broadening his abilities to other keyboard instruments, Jared recently was featured as harpsichord soloist in a benefit concert at Corpus Christie Church to raise money for a new instrument. He has been heard in concerts and recitals throughout Florida, Italy, Ireland and the United Kingdom, and in his hometown of Georgetown, Guyana. Quickly becoming an established collaborative musician, Jared has collaborated with a number of vocalists and instrumentalists throughout South Florida. Michael also recently traveled to Puerto Rico where he played the role of Dr. Other recent performance highlights include Stacee Jaxx in Rock of Ages (The Lamp Theater), Jeff in Title of Show (Miami Theatre Works), Albin in La Cage Aux Folles (Interlakes Summer Theater, Leo Frank in Parade (GCT), Lord Farquaad in Shrek, (Educational Theatre Collaborative), Jamie in The Last Five Years, (All In Productions), Jerry in The Full Monty (GCT), and Princeton/Rod in Avenue Q, (Split Stage Productions). Michael is also the creator and Executive Director of Miami Theatre Works and is excited to perform in its second production this summer. Michael Stoddard, Executive Director & Princeton/Rod Understudy, has lived in Miami for the past six years where he directs and performs internationally while previously working as the Director of Theatre at Palmer Trinity School. She thanks her Mami and Dad, Max, her friends, and everyone around her for their love and support. She is currently striving to make music, dabble in arts and crafts, and explore this human experience (whatever that entails). She graduated from New World School of the Arts high school where she studied Musical Theater. Past favorite credits include Honeymoon in Vegas (Betsy Nolan) and 25th Annual… Spelling Bee (Olive Ostrovsky), and in the past year she has been in the play Ace of Swords, a devised piece called “Free Britney” (about Britney Spears), and a song cycle concert entitled “Home” at Miami Children’s Theater. Anah just finished her first year at Florida State, where she currently studies Theater, and soon, Psychology as well. ANAH SOFIA MERIFIELD, Kate Monster, is ecstatic to be a part of Miami Theater Works’ production of Avenue Q truly a dream come true! This is the first musical she’s worked on in about 3 years so she is very excited.
